Cookies

This site sets four cookies. None of them track you across the web, and there is no advertising network involved, so there is no consent banner asking you to agree to something you did not want.

The cookies

  • orbit_sid — your sign-in session. Deleted when you close the browser. Essential.
  • orbit_remember — the "keep me signed in" token, if you asked for it. 30 days. You control it by not ticking the box.
  • orbit_theme — whether you chose the light or the dark theme. One year. Set only when you use the toggle; until then the site follows your device setting.
  • A CSRF token, held inside the session, which stops another site submitting forms as you. Essential.

What we do not set

  • No advertising cookies. No third-party analytics that follows you elsewhere. No social media pixels.
  • If analytics is enabled it is a privacy-preserving, cookie-free installation, chosen because this audience is unusually sensitive about being tracked.

Turning them off

  • Blocking orbit_sid means you cannot sign in, because it is what signing in consists of.
  • Blocking orbit_theme means the site forgets your theme choice on each visit.
  • Everything else works with cookies blocked.
